As I celebrate my 30th Birthday, I realize that health & wellness has suddenly become a necessary subject to keep updated. Most of my childhood & teenage years passed without much curiosity on this subject. I now realize that my knowledge on health & wellness is quite limited!
I too had my share of “suggestions” from my friends & family about “this” being healthy and “that” being un-healthy. I used to ignore most of this “gibberish talk” & focus on having what tasted “good”.
As years passed I (fortunately) came in contact with a new group of friends. Maybe I can introduce them to you in some other post. However coming back to this post, there was something interesting about this group. There is a couple who are “big time” into active lifestyle & healthy eating. There are 2 guys who are still bachelors including me. There are some other people as well.We all are in late 20”s & early 30’s age bracket.
Usually on Fridays or Saturdays we will have this get together where inevitable during the later stage the discussion diverts into health & wellness. during many of these discussions I come across various “concepts” & “to dos” that are quite enlightening to me. some are quite simple and logical but some of them are truly weird.
I unknowingly started reading articles on how to be healthy , how to pursue active lifestyle, what to eat, what not to eat…etc. I also came across various stories from friends, family, Internet & TV about people suffering due to lack of information on health & lifestyle once they grow older. I have realize that not seeking information on healthy lifestyle and implementing them in your life is not an excuse. There were stories how poor lifestyle choices leads to disease that costs a fortune and the whole family suffers.
I intend to share some of my lessons borrowed from friends & family which I have implemented in my life. I believe that they have changed me life for the better.
