Today whenever we have any health problem we rush to the doctor. The importance of home remedies have been forgotten. If we look around us we will get lot of stuff which we can use for better health.
One of these is radish.
Radish has carbohydrates, protein,vitamin A, C and vitamin B complex Radish is rich in potassium and thus it is useful for people suffering from kidney and heart ailment. Eating radish promotes good functioning of intestine and help in detoxifying our body. It gives energy and heat and it increase our immunity power.. Radish is used for severe constipation and lack of blood in the body. Eating radish with meal or after meal is more beneficial as they help in food digestion.
Radish can be cooked in many ways like paratha, saag, acchar, chutney, but eating raw radish is more useful.. Radish seed is considered as excellent ant gastric home remedy. Radish leaves are also eaten as ‘saag’ and is used in salad .Some of the major benefits of eating raddish are –
1) Eating one radish everyday leads to better digestion and increases in appetite.
2) Radish is high in iron and thus people who are anemic or has lees blood should drink radish juice mixed with pomegranate juice everyday.
3) Radish is also good in treating piles. Make a paste of radish and then sauté it in a tablespoon of ghee. Eat this every morning for a month.
4) People having acidity problem should eat one radish everyday.
5) People having diabetes, asthma, teeth and skin problem should eat radish in empty stomach.
6) People having joint pains can make a juice of radish, cabbage and ginger and drink it every morning.
7) To loose weight take a glass of radish juice and put a teaspoon of lemon juice and drink it everyday . within a month you will see the difference.
8) In prolong stomach problems like constipation, lack of appetite, indigestion mix a glass of radish juice with a tablespoon of ginger and lemon juice and drink it for a month.
9) In case of gall bladder stone take a pinch of ajwain with a cup of radish juice after every 4 hour. Follow this for 2-3 months. The stone will come out with urine.
10) In case of burning sensation while urinating drinking radish juice everyday is recommended.
11) To get flawless skin apply paste od radish everyday for 10 mintues.
Precautions – never eat radish in night. It may lead to joint pains.
Avoid milk, curd, ‘kheer’ or any milk product awhile having radish.
Never eat green radish as it has toxins. Always eat ripe radish.
Never boil radish in too much water as it loose its vitamins.
Try to have unpeeled radish as its skin has lot of vitamins and minerals.
