Do people call you ‘Moody’. Do you get angry without any reason and then you become normal after sometime? It is not something strange…. It happens with many people. Sometime you will feel that you were in a bad mood throughout the day and feeling exhausted, but this is not a serious problem.
Just think what did you eat throughout the day. You will be surprised to know that our food has lot of effect on our mood.
Do you eat meal which is enriched with vitamins, carbohydrate and protein twice a day or keep on munching something or the other after short intervals? Today many people follow the second way due to work pressure. This type of food badly affect the blood sugar level and blood circulation. Thus our brain ( which regulates our activities) gets sometimes more, sometimes less or sometimes no blood supply. This has repercussion on our thinking process.
When we have less blood sugar ten we do not get the required energy to perform any work, the blood supply to brain decreases and we feel irritated.
Sometimes we see that children coming from school are in a bad mood. The reason is inadequate nutrition. It might happen that he only had milk in the morning, and since he did not liked the tiffin he did not eat . If you give them a glass of glucose they will feel energetic and will feel good.
Similarly we see h many housewives feel irritated in the evening after day’s hard work.. this is also due to lack of nutrition. They burn out their energy while doing household chores thus if you offer lemon juice or glucose they will feel good.
Young people nowadays prefer fast and ready to eat food, prefer soft drinks instead of water. Eat whenever they feel hungry and will not eat if they do not like the food…….. this habit result in inadequate nutrition and lack of which has bad effect on health and mind.
It is said that after every 6-7 hours our body gets tired just like any car .We need to put petrol in order to drive more. Sometimes you feel hungry then you eat a piece of chocolate, it work for few minutes but as soon as the glucose get digested you again feel hungry. Thus it is important to eat a balanced diet than binging.
By balanced diet it is not meant to eat rice, dal and curry…… one can opt for Sandwiches and a fruit, or cornflakes with curd. People who like nonvegetarian food can eat fish and rice or chicken curry with chapatis. The food should be delicious and nutritious and should meet our need for vitamins, minerals, carbohydrate and protein.
Try eating three full course meal at breakfast, lunch and dinner and have snacks and fruits twice a day for a month and see the change in your behavior.
