My day begins with reading the headlines of the daily newspaper and then I go to page where there are pictures of those who have expired. I see if I know anybody from those pictures. I have seen that most of the people die out of heart attack, cancer or accident or any other disease and the age at which they die are shocking.
There is a say that you should believe as if you will live always and you should live as if you will die today. We all want to live our life as long as possible and yes we want to live a happy and healthy life. In earlier days people used to live for more than 100 years and today we can only wish…… today scientific achievements has made us immune to various disease but at the same time we are facing newer diseases. To maintain youth gene therapy, stem cell therapy , immune stimulation have evolved.
Few life style changes are also recommended like Super 6 – Feet, fork, fingers,sleep,stess and love which claim to give you better health in terms of some lifestyle change –
Feet – The whole body is balanced by feet and thus walking not only helps to make us fit but also to burn excess calories.
Fork – food that we eat with fork are usually junk and fast food which are high in trans fat and thus avoiding fork means avoiding trans fat.
Fingers – finger is associated with smoking. Smoking should be avoided.
Sleep – adequate sleep is required for a healthy life. Lack of sleep leads to immediate health problems like laziness, indigestion, drowsiness.
Love – love makes life beautiful and gives that extra energy to cope with problems of life. It is a tonic for life.
My age is 78 years but according to my “Janam Kundali “ I should have died by 70…… and till today I do not have any major health problem. A friend of mine asked about my Secret and I laughed and wondered…….Then I shared my daily routine.
I have always been a vegetarian and since past few years my weight has been 60 Kg which is perfect as per my body mass index… I am not underweight.
I wake up at 5 and go to buy milk walking. Then I practice Yoga for 15-20 mintues. After bath I have my breakfast which is usually Dosa, Idli, chappati, upma or Poha.
Lunch consists of rice, dal, saag, and vegetable. I eat 3-4 banana or any fruit after an hour of having lunch.
I drink Green tea thrice a day – In the morning , at 11 am and at 4 pm.
When I return backfrom work I go for walk, spend some time in local club and then go to the nearby temple. I return back by 8 pm and then help my wife in cooking and other household chores. Then we together sit and help our children to finish their home work.
By 9 :30 pm we take our dinner together and then watch some Tv. By 10 pm I go to Sleep.
My parents had high blood pressure and diabetes and I have none. I think my Pranayam help me a lot. I have seen my ups and downs….. Days when I didn’t have any money to eat food and days when I gifted my wife a diamond ring and we went to a international holiday trip. I try to solve the problems of life and if things are beyond my control then I leave it on GOD.
