Mr. Sharma was not coming to office since last Monday. The reason was his constipation. He was not being able to concentrate on his work in office. It was quite embarrassing also to go to toilet frequently. It may sound a very stupid reason for not going to office as we generally do not give any importance to constipation and believe that it can be tackled easily with self prescribed medicine.
Most of the time even if we visit a doctor they prescribe medication which solves the problem temporarily.
As per Indian Ayurveda the whole seed of sickness lie in our digestive system. If we have good digestive system then we can avoid many disease. Constipation is result of bad digestion. Usually people do not give too much importance to constipation but if it becomes a regular situation then it can be harmful. It sometimes leads to stomach ache, headache, gastric problem, mouth ulcer and many more.
if we ponder over our life style then we shall find that the problem of constipation is actually due to wrong food habits and if we take care we will never have this problem.
The problem lies in –
Most of us are late riser and once we get up we are in a rush to go to office or work. We do not give ourselves sufficient time to relive ourselves in toilet. For good health it is recommended to get up before sunrise and then drink a glass of water. For better result fill a brass glass with water before night and then drink the water in empty stomach in the morning. This will help in cleansing the system. Give sufficient time to relieve yourself.
Do not divert your mind while relieving yourself. Most of us have a tendency to plan our day or keep o thinking about a on going problem during toilet. This creats a problem.
Food habit is also responsible for constipation. Have your proper meal thrice a day – breakfast, lunch and dinner and do not binge in between. Try to keep a gap of 5-6 hours in between your meal. Try to maintain a time for meal. Like breakfast should be taken within 9 am and the lunch by 2 pm and then dinner by 7:30 – 8 pm. Dinner should be taken two hours before going to sleep.
Try to avoid fast food and junk food. Avoid eating too much fried food as they take time to digest and have transfat. eating fibrous food like vegetables and fruits help to clean our system.
It is good to go for a walk after having dinner at night. This helps in digestion.
Drink water. Water help in flushing out toxins. Drink at least 8-10 glass of water. Do not have water immediately after eating food. For better results have lukewarm water than water at room temperature or cold water.
Keep fast one day in a week or once in 10 days. This help in building good digestive system.
As a home remedy mix two tablespoon of triphala powder in lukewatrm water and then drink it for at least 3 months.
