Today’s competitive world work on Darwinian principle of ‘ survival of the fittest’ and to be fit we exercise, follow a balanced healthy diet, take proper sleep, sometimes visit spa for relaxation, etc, but how many of us follow a simple step of maintaining cleanliness .
Cleanliness is important for being healthy. If our environment around us will be cleaned then we will be healthy
Cleanliness has the following aspects.
Keep yourself clean –
Personal hygiene is the utmost important for getting a healthy life. It involves daily activity of brushing , excreting and bathing. Cutting nails and hair from time to time and wearing clean clothes. Being unhygienic is the most common cause of sickness, for example if we do not brush our teeth everyday then we will have teeth problems.
Dirty utensils have germs –
We all think that just washing our utensils with soap will kill all the germs….it is not so it is important to wipe the utensils with a day cloth. The water which stays inside the utensils call for germs. Similarly, it is important to wash the place where we keep our utensils. The sink where we wash utensils also need to be cleaned once in a day with washing powder.
Keep your toothbrush under cover –
After brushing tooth it is important to wash it properly, dry it and keep it in a safe place. Any toothpaste left on the brush can be a breeding ground of germs.
Keep the toilet clean –
We use our toilet through out the day and hence it is important to keep it clean and fresh. Toilet is the place where there are greatest chance of having infection. It is recommended to clean the toilet and the closet everyday with a good disinfectant and keep it dry. Wet surface attract germs more than a dry surface.
Keep your hands clean –
Our hands are involved in each and every activity throughout the day, be it cooking, serving food, eating food , bathing visiting toilet , cleaning home….. thus we should wash our hands after finishing a dirty job and before touching food. One can used good antiseptic solution.
Keep your house clean – keep the hose clean, daily brooming and seeping of floor is required. Moreover, we touch several objects in our house through out the day without thinking of cleaning them for long, such as – a door knob, almirah, switchboard, computer, a television or television remote. These should be cleaned occasionally.
Throw away the stagnant water –
Stagnant water is breeding ground for mosquitoes. Mosquitoes spread malaria, dengue and many other viral diseases. Throw away the stagnant water in your house. Even if you need to store water , for example in aquarium ,then use some spay around it or change water every day.
In the locality also do not allow anybody to keep stagnant water. Arrange to cover up drains and storage tank by speaking to local administrator.
