Bad mood is a reaction to an unpleasant experience or situation. For example, a tiff or argument with your partner can upset your mood not meeting your targets at work puts you in a bad mood. Many factors help in building your mad mood, and it leaves you frustrated, irritated and for some bad mood means cravings for coffee, tea and smoke.
There are however, some proven ways to change mood. From bad to good and from frustrating to happy.
Drawing therapy – This is a great therapy to vent out your negative energy. Whenever you are in a bad mood, take a pencil and a paper and start drawing whatever is coming to your mind, it can be balloons, flowers, birds, house, children playing, lines, angles, just colors or whatever comes to your mind. This is a great way to relax and change mood.
Child play therapy – Whenyou are not in a good mood, only babies/children can make you smile. If you have any small baby or kid at home then play with them to divert your attention. Be childish and see how quickly it changes your mood. If your children are little older then play some indoor games or take them for a ride or watch any interesting movie with them.
Acupressure therapy – acupressure therapies are based on the belief that our emotions and activities are guided by certain pressure points on palm and feet and if we can give appropriate pressure on theses points then it can change our frame of mind and can relax our body. These therapies aim to energize the cells, tissues and organs of our body by touching pressure points. However it requires expert advice.
Auto suggestion – When you are in a bad mood or temper, just stop thinking; do not think about past, present or future. Think as if you are dead and the world around you has stopped. If you are at home then lie down on bed and just think that you are in deep sleep. Be in this position till you feel better and are in a position to think about options for your problem.
Touch therapy – touching is a great feeling, a child when gets hurts or is scared or sad about anything he goes up to the mother and hugs her. This is the most innate way of changing ones mood. Love and care manifested by touching and hugging can change your mood. So whenever you are in bad mood , hug your closed ones, this is very useful in anxiety and people suffering from attention disorder.
Therapeutic gadgets – there are some therapeutic gadgets available in the market that can also change your mood like aromatic candles, incense sticks, massage equipment, Wind chimes etc.
Music therapy – listening to music is a great way to change your mood and frame of mind. Whenever you are in a bad mood just switch on a selection of your favorite songs and within few seconds your mind will refresh.
